We were fortunate enough to visit the Thotulagalla tea estate on our last visit to the Uva region of Sri Lanka. It was there that we met Karuppaiah Kanageswary, and were immediately taken by her infectious smile. Although we couldn’t speak her language, we felt we had a common connection, as each day she carefully hand picks the tea that we use in so many of our blends.
