Our Australian Sencha tea is grown and harvested in Wangaratta, Northern Victoria, and is the first teas harvested for the season after the plant has been dormant over the winter. The plant continues to absorb nutrients into the roots and leaves enhancing the abundance of nutrients and flavours, which are essential to the growth of both spring shoots and new leaves. This Shincha, or “new tea” has a low catechin and caffeine content, making it less bitter and astringent than many other green teas, and it also tends to have a higher content of amino acids, which give it full-bodied flavour and sweetness

This shincha variety of sencha tea is sourced from a number of small-scale farmers in northern Victoria, Australia. Shincha, or new tea, is made using new leaves from the first harvest of tea each spring. Shincha truly represents the beauty of a traditional tea experience. It offers a delicate and refined taste that is slightly buttery and exceptionally smooth. This blend is now available in the convenient option of biodegradable pyramid tea bags.

? This photo was taken on our last visit to Wangaratta in Northern Victoria, where we source our Australian Sencha green tea. We love visiting plantations, where we are able to see the harvest, talk to the growers and ensure we source the highest quality ingredients ?

Australian Sencha is a perfectly balanced green tea, with a smooth, mild and grassy taste, and a sweet and delicate aroma. It is grown in a small plantation in Northern Victoria by Australian farmers, and is made from the leaves of the first harvest in spring
