By personally visiting these communities, we are able to get a better understanding of their processes and effort that is required to produce each harvest, as well as learn more about the environmental factors that effect flavour

jpTaking time out to escape the hustle + bustle of Tokyo, we headed south to Shizuoka to experience tranquil tea plantations. It was here, we met the growers of our Japanese green tea; Kazuo + his son Takeshi, a family of passionate tea farmers. To top off our visit, Kazuo picked these Shitake mushrooms from the edge of the tea plantation for us to cook for dinner. Meeting the people, learning their craft + hearing their stories, is what makes this journey special.
